Eli-isms...

In keeping with your 3rd birthday, I got out the journal that I've been tracking your milestones and things you do and say. I haven't been perfect with this so I know there are great things that I forgot to record but it does the job. SO- I thought I would go ahead and put it on here and use this as my Eli Journal from now on too!

11/2/10...I've decided to make this my "Eli" journal. He is almost 15 months old and is turning into a little boy! Things he's done since 12 months:
- starting to run
- says "dog" but in a deep, funny way!
- knows that Wrigley is a dog...says "dog" and runs to the window and hits it until she comes.
- said "oma" but still hasn't perfected it

- mom is "A-Ma" and Dad is "A-Da"...don't     exactly know why???
- loves to dance and clap
- loves the marching band
- points to his head when asked where his head is
- trick-or-treated with the James'
- if I say "did you poop?" he gets really still and grunts!
- he climbs on EVERYTHING!- no fear!
- went to his first pumpkin patch in Mayflower
- if I say "let's go night night" he'll walk back to his room
- loves his blue w/ polka dots blankie from Kerry Roberts the best...but has to have 12 others in his crib.
- loves his GUMC church family
- loves sticks/limbs/branches
-loves dirt/sand/mud
- understands "wanna eat?" and walks to his highchair
- very much like me- impatient and tempermental!
- looks like his daddy still
- his hair is getting long but the cute curls in the back are to cute to cut!
- loves any show/commercial with  music- it immediately gets his attention!
- still very much a momma's boy  but also very independent if the mood is right.

I love my boy! Teaches me to how to love unconditionally!

February 21, 2012

Well, a lot has changed in your life. In June we moved to Rogers and you handled the transition seamlessly! Your vocabulary took off this summer. We took a beach vacation to Gulf Shores...you were unsure of the ocean this year but warmed up by the end of the week. You loved the pool and spending time with Gidian and Keegan and all your aunts, uncles, and Oma and Pop. In Rogers we started going to story time at the library- they blow bubbles so you love it! We also go to the Splash Park where you would live if you could. You love being outside and going to the park down the street. You eat almost anything once but don't always like to eat dinner. You went to the zoo with Gran and Grandad and Addy this Fall and discovered your love of trains! You turned 2 in August and at your party we announced to family that you would be a big brother in April. A few weeks later we found out it was TWINS- TWO BROTHERS!You've been so sweet and love to kiss momma's belly. Some of your most recent likes/dislikes are: LIKES- music, instruments, Mickey Mouse, Dora, Yo Gabba Gabba, Trains, Brian Kinder, cheese, fruit, candy, outside, and oatmeal.  Dislikes- veggies, dinner, pooping, sometimes listening! You can count to 20 (sometimes needing a little help). You've been to Silver Dollar City 4 or 5 times and call it Dollar City and it is your heaven on Earth. You want to be on the go- we visit great grands in Ft. Smith about every other Friday. Changed to a toddler bed in Nov. Started potty training at end of January- at this point you still haven't pooped in potty but are doing great to pee! You have the sweetest, funniest personality and amaze momma and daddy with how smart you are. Things you say:

Peace-out
All da-boad! (all aboard)
Sing "night-night Eli Reese" song
Ask "why?" constantly
You can communicate everything in a sentence
Arrrrr Matey's!
cookie is still "too-ie"
I be tare-ful (careful)(you say this to me when you want to bring food/drink on couch)
My eyes hurt= I'm tired
Momma, I not say shut-up and Don't tell Momma hush
No, not yet
Gan and Dada= Gran and Grandad
2 more minutes (this is your stall tactic)
Set da timeer (set the timer...another stall tactic)
When told to go to time-out you say "I top" (I stop)
Songs you sing: Wheels on the Bus, Wise man built his house on the rock, I like being a Kid
Your private part is you wee-wees
you call your underwear panties when you are being funny
I got a big idea!
Happy Birthday (you say this to people randomly- even Jesus)
You call daddy "Zach" especially when you are telling him to do something

At bed you still have to have your bee-bee and now your blue dog from aunt Jen, your turtle stars, and ocean waves. You know how to use our iphones- you play puzzles and watch Netflix.

Spring/Summer 2012
- I got you a Sonic drink the other day and you said (without being asked if you had one) "Momma, it's ok, I didn't get a brain freeze!" and then after that you said "Mmmmmm....this tastes like SUGAR!" ha!
- your brothers are your babies...and you give them hugs every time you leave
- really into baseball or any sport with balls! Have gone to a few ballgames with daddy.
-Today you were wearing a tank top and I told you it was a muscle shirt so you told daddy that you have a muscle shirt on so you wanted to play "muscles" which is boxing. You call boxing gloves your muscles!
- You could play all day long with Megan next door
- You can spell your name
- You have memorized Psalm 23:1 "the Lord is my Shepard" and Matt 5:12 "Be full of joy and be glad"
- You say "It's ok momma" if you think I'm going to be mad or not agree to something.
-One time when brothers were crying you looked at us and said "It's ok momma. I'll deal with it."
- Another time when they were crying you yelled "It's ok brothers, I'm coming!"
-Everything is oatmeal choo-choo, bo bo, poopy diaper.
- You always bring us tickets so we can watch your concert.
-One night you said you didn't like daddy and he asked why and you said a bunch of nonsense words and ended it with "and you spank my butt". it's funny because he doesn't and you never say butt!
- The past few times we've been at oma and pop's you have done really well in the pool! You dive for rings and swim a little and hold your breath really well.

There are a MILLION funny things I wish I had written down as soon as you said them but these will have to do. We love you bud and love the absolute JOY you bring into our lives...until you don't go to bed, or don't eat your food, or don't listen, or.... :)
